Kristina Vugdelija is a senior assistant at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. In 2013 she graduated from the same Faculty with a degree in Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology and Croatian Language and Literature. In 2023, she obtained her PhD in Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology with the thesis The Making of National Heroes in Contemporary Cultures of Memory in Croatia. She also completed the three-year international doctoral programme Transformations in European Societies at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. Since 2017, she has been employed at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology in Zagreb. She is a member of the editorial boards in hed-biblioteka, the publishing series of the Croatian Ethnological Society, and in the Etnološka tribina scientific journal. Her research interests are related to political anthropology, anthropology of social memory, postsocialist transformation, and heroism studies.
